We closed the kitchen on Monday this week to give everyone a rest day. It has been hard going for everyone since we more than doubled our meal count. Thanks to all our volunteers who have been actively giving us their precious time to help out and of course, thanks to K. Sunee and K. Poo for turning out delicious meals every day. And of course, Aland for doing all the shopping and driving around.

The food queues outside the chapel are not slowing down, despite more shops reopening in Phuket. We are now starting to see Omnicron cases pop up in Phuket, so it is unknown what the longer term economic impact will be but we hope the economy fully recovers soon.

Should you wish to donate to help us keep our work going, please click here. Our kitchen uses sustainable packaging and operates Mon-Fri every week. We distribute free food packs to the needy at the chapel and also to nearby Burmese camps in the Patong area. Whilst tourism has partially returned to Phuket, it is not in the typical numbers from before so economic employment is still difficult.

Our kitchen has been operating since April 2020, at the start of the tourism lockdown and been going since. We have brought hot meals to thousands that have demonstrated need. We cannot fix all the economic woes but we are able to help with 1 hot meal a day. Our beneficiaries are families, children and many working poor (whom have suffered pay cuts or reduced work days due to economic conditions).

Any questions, please reach out to info@hotmealsforall.org.
