Leading up to Christmas has been so busy for the Hot meals team. Sunee and Aland have been running the kitchen, making meals but also gearing up to pack and give out 550 Grace Bags to needy families. This has taken them months to interview and identify the right families that are in need of our help. The Christmas Grace bags were kindly donated by expat and overseas donors and even came packed in recycleable IKEA bags. As we give, we also hope to mind the environment and in any case, those IKEA bags are amazing for everyday living. We are pretty sure they will get at least 100 reuses.

The queues to collect our food boxes remain so long. It is important to remember and reflect that as we celebrate the wealth of our holidays, that so many need our help. One food box costs US$1 for us to provide, please help us by donating.
CHRISTMAS BIG PACKING - 550 bags of basic staples were put together and distributed over 2 days. To manage the crowds and covid spread, we arranged scheduled pickups by families that have been pre-identified based on prior interviews and needs. A HUGE Thank YOU to the amazing kind donors who have contributed to these bags. Each bag contains, rice, oil, noodles and many basic items that can last a family 1-2 weeks.
And of course, big thank you to our kind volunteers that have given time, sweat and muscle to carry these super heavy bags!
