To highlight why we are providing this food relief program, please see the photos below of what Patong looks like today, 18 months on since COVID-19 hit and tourist borders shut. All the shops that once employed people are shut, the streets are empty, the many taxi operators are gone. Basic employment is decimated.

This is the reality for many folks here, who really struggle to ensure they have a basic meal for themselves and their children. Schools are still not operating and many families are struggling to provide the IT equipment needed to help their children access online learning. With so many things to contend with, the least our kitchen can do is to provide 1 hot meal a day. So simple. And it only costs $1 for each meal. Please donate here to help us make 15,000 meals a reality.

Menu: Fried rice tuna and soup, Mince chicken porridge

Meals served: 153

Chef Sunee made 2 menu choices today. A delicious fried rice tuna and a tasty mince chicken porridge. We constantly marvel at her ability to turn out wonderful food for such low cost. Meals were also delivered to the nearby villages.

Here is where the penny drops. Aland and Sunee help to provide meals to the most needy and this is a common sight, especially under such terrible economic conditions.

In helping with the food relief program, it is scenes like this that remind us, the world is unequal. While many of us in the rich world ponder our next Cruise to Nowhere to escape covid boredom, some people are just grateful that they got a free meal that day. And the children are the most innocent victims of all.

Menu: Chicken soup with rice

Meals served: 143

We are making good progress with our food relief program. A key to wider distribution and reaching more folks is to ENSURE we offer meals CONSISTENTLY DAILY. This is completely dependent on our donations. When donations dry up, we are unable to provide meal service and for the poor, making that daily trip out to collect a food pack requires monetary consideration (motorcycle gas). It creates much stress for folks to arrive at the chapel and realize we are not serving or the packs were insufficient. So please do help fund our food program. Click here to donate.

Today, Aland and Sunee served 143 meals and delivered a load to the nearby village. It's always great to see our meals go from box straight on to dinner!

She loves her chicken soup and rice bowl!

It's always great to see how happy people are around food. Because food nourishes us and binds us all across our different backgrounds, cultures and ideologies.
